About us · The Portman story
Portman Lights wasn’t created in a corporate boardroom. It started in a humble garage with a relentless vision: to break away from generic, clinical lighting and create fixtures with a real soul.
Today, every single fixture is engineered and most of them manufactured in our own dedicated factory in Poland (EU). From raw metal to final assembly, we maintain a big part of our production. Our patented designs illuminate the largest stadium tours, television broadcasts, and iconic festivals across the globe.

Everything starts in our own R&D department, where we develop our optics, electronics, and patented housings from scratch. With the vast majority of production located in Poland (Europe), we maintain direct oversight over assembly and testing. This delivers uncompromising European quality, extreme durability, and reliable support whenever your rig is on the road.

2016
Two lighting and business enthusiasts set out to revolutionise scenic stage design. The first original P1 Retro Lamp™ was hand-crafted in a garage, defying standard market formulas.
2017
Portman debuts at international trade shows. Lighting designers for top-tier acts take notice. Demand explodes across Europe and North America. P1 Retro Lamp™ was used on Sting's concert, Ed Sheeran's performance during GRAMMY's, BBC etc.
2019
Release of MANTIS™, introducing new patented shapes and our industry-leading tungsten-emulated LED light engine (haloLED™). Portman becomes a benchmark for decorative stage lighting.
2022
Establishment of an exclusive global network of authorised distributors, bringing certified local service, warranty, and technical support to over 60 countries.
2025
Launch of OMNIRAY™ - our IP65-rated hybrid fixture engineered for pure lighting power and maximum lumens-per-dollar efficiency. Combines a high-CRI (>95) RGBWLA wash with a razor-sharp 3.8° narrow beam for punchy mid-air stage effects.
